We have been getting calls wondering when the course will be open and Matt is getting optimistic about next week, but there is still a lot of snow in some areas and mud in others.
We are not allowing carts on the course yet but will keep you posted when that changes.
Things are looking favorable weatherwise this week, so let’s hope for the best.
The Board of Directors will have their March meeting on Thursday March 11 at 5:30. All members are welcome to attend.
Food Specials for this week:
Sunday, March 7. We are kicking off the breakfast season tomorrow from 8:00 to 12:00. Todd & Sheryl Freeborn are the crew leaders, with Colin & Kiegan Watts, Dave Lehman, and Larry Bergeson on the kitchen team.
They are featuring eggs made to order, waffles, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit and some treats to finish it off with. It is going to be too nice outside to stay home to cook and do dishes.
Evening Specials (serving from 5:00 to 8:00)
Monday Night we are going to feature the roast beef dinner again with real mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and bread for $8.50. We sold out when we tried this two weeks ago and this time we will be ready for more.
Thank you to Christine Grier for her help in the kitchen. She is a good cook.
Wednesday Wing night still remains very popular with 10 wings and fries for $10.00. We have a variety of seasonings to pick from and they are all good choices.
Friday Night is Fried Cod or Catfish and fries for $9.00. Come out and join us now that the weather is getting better.
Also, if you haven’t tried the jumbo cooked pretzel in cheese sauce, you need to. It is the size of a medium pizza, has a crisp crust and tastes like fresh bread on the inside. It is a perfect table snack for the group.
Since selling Malcolm Lumber, Roger Schroeder has been very busy out at our course. Last year he replaced one of our windows that needed it and he started taking out the trees that needed to go. He also decided our fencing needed some attention, so he straightened out the posts and reconnected the sections.
Last week I was driving by the club and found Mike Phillips in the parking lot grading it with his tractor/loader. With the dry windy weather this week, it made a world of difference and our lot is not as muddy as it used to be.
Thank you to Roger and Mike for your many contributions to Montezuma Country Club.
There is now a suggestion box in the clubhouse that I would like to encourage people to use. We have a great club and if you have any suggestions, comments, or complaints, we would like to hear them. If you sign them, I will get a response to you.
